History

To help to manage the affairs of the present “Thrift & Credit Society’s ” financial system for the future would be shareholders, board of directors, office management, and related business community that how a village community, with simple experience of pastoralism and agriculturalism. Hence with little knowledge of barter trade emerged to deal with a complex new advanced system of currency – money-related trade, the modern financial business.

 

In all over Gilgit-Baltistan, 54 such “Societies “were registered up to 1962, and The Aliabad Thrift Society (Generally known to the common man) was registered as 55” with the registration authority of inspector cooperative Societies, Mr. Ashraf (from Astore) had himself proposed the Society’s name and as an authority registered it. While Major.Rtd.Mir Baz Khan Mir Ahmed who was serving then in the “Village Aid” department devotedly worked for Society.

In the 1960s some visionary people of Ali Abad Hunza design a society that leads to a great financial Institution, at that certain period the people were totally illiterate despite they done enviable efforts in the shape of a thrift society. In 1962 thrift society Registered with co-operative societies in Gilgit Baltistan, bearing Registration #55, Now Registrar Co-operative societies GB has allotted Registration #03. Initially, the number of shareholders was 52 per share price of Rs .10 and total share capital is RS 5125, Now 3230 shareholder contains Rs .100
